"Budokon Yoga is a multi-faceted practice which captivates the mind, body, and spirit. Through mixed movement arts, Budokon incorporates numerous types of movement practices with a deeper purpose than just movement. It is the way of the warrior. The journey of realizing ones own inner warrior with a sense of inner peace achieved through Budokon's six pillar system. Through continuous practice, Budokon yoga will uncover and shed the layers of inconsistencies that lie within each of us tobring about a clear mind, a powerful mind, and a calm mind with a strong body. The Budokon class is specifically designed to allow you to open up these gateways within yourself, should you allow it to. Either way, a magnificent practice will be had, but the poses and practice itself can truly take you to the mental state that we all strive to achieve - inner peace and strength. "There is no thought in any mind, but it quickly tends to convert itself into a power, and organizes a huge instrumentality of means." It is up to us to choose and believe whatever story or narrative we tell ourselves about who, what, and how we are. Through consistency in the Budokon practice, one will be able to uncover this narrative, decipher the truths and falsities of our narrative, and deconstruct then reconstruct our TRUE NARRATIVE. This is the way of the Budokon warrior. "
WHAT IS BUDOKON (BU-DO-KON)
Budokon is an integral approach to the study of the universe and our relationship within it through the study of the Yogic, Martial, and Living arts. Budokon has a six pillar system which makes a body of science and philosophy used as a method to provide a practical means of realizing the highest ideals in daily living. Rather than separating different areas of human knowledge Budokon integrates them together.
THE BUDOKON®MARTIAL ARTS SYSTEM
As a mixed martial and yogic arts system we operate on a six-belt system: White, Red, Blue, Purple, Brown, & Black Students start at the white belt level and continue through the ranks until black belt. Each belt rank takes approximately 6 months to 1 year to achieve. Each belt is measured by classroom & personal practice hours and curriculum-specific exams.
The name Budokon was created by its founder, Kancho Cameron Shayne. It was taken from the Japanese language: Bu (warrior), Do (the way), Kon (spirit). This translates as “the way of the warrior spirit”. This name was chosen to represent a person living the way of the betterment of all humanity achieved through the spirit of unwavering virtue and defended by the warrior's service, protection, and courage.
